The route offers the chance to visit the Asturian coast to get to know the gastronomy and marine traditions in the fishing villages, lonjas or fishermen’s markets, artisan canneries and restaurants.

Ruta de los sabores del mar
Esta ruta recorre la costa asturiana para mostrar todas sus bellezas: playas, acantilados, cabos y, especialmente, pueblos marineros donde se conservan vivas las tradiciones pesqueras. Las lonjas de pescadores abren sus puertas para mostrar a los visitantes el curioso proceso de la subasta del pescado, y en las pequeñas conserveras artesanales se pude comprobar cómo la elaboración de algunas conservas sigue siendo totalmente manual, participa en un taller de cocina marinera o descubre los rincones de alguno de sus puertos pesqueros.
The route follows the Asturian Coast to show the beautiful landscape of beaches, cliffs, capes and, in particular, the fishing villagers that keeps the fishing traditions alive.
The lonjas, the fishermen’s markets, open their doors to allow visitors to see the curious method of auctioning the fish and in the small craft canneries one can observe the methods used to preserve the fish, many of which are still completely manual.
You can also join in a class of marine cookery or, accompanied by knowledgeable local guides, discover the less well known parts of the fishing villages to learn the secrets of the fishing and marine traditions.
