Protected Food in Europe
Europe enjoys a vast diversity of unique high quality products. If you are concerned about the origin and authenticity of local products, these three labels make sure that you are getting a taste of real European products!
The European Union schemes known as PDO (Protected Designation of Origin), PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) and TSG (Traditional Speciality Guaranteed) promote and protect names of quality agricultural products and foodstuffs.
These three schemes give you information about the specific character of the products and protect their geographical appellations against misuse and imitation.
