Lombardy was one of the first regions in Italy to fully develop the idea of Wine Roads, with the promotion of the creation of the Wine and Food Roads of Lombardy network. This is a series of ‘gourmet itineraries’, whose aim is to enhance and promote typical quality wine and food products. The produce, whether it is wine or food, is always produced using the traditions and culture of their territory of origin. There are currently twelve roads recognised by the Region.

‘Tekovský salámový syr’ is a natural semi-hard, ripened full-fat cheese, either smoked or unsmoked, in the shape of a 30-32 cm long cylinder, with a diameter of 9-9,5 cm. The cheese is noted for its cylinder shape, unusual for a cheese and more reminiscent of salami. It is produced in the Tekov region, a region known as the leader in milk production and milk quality in southwestern Slovakia.

Oscypek Cheese Products

Made with milk that comes from the ‘Polish Mountain Sheep’ breed, this Polish cheese is produced in a traditional way, thanks to a knowledge passed down from one generation to the next. This expertise has made Oscypek one of most valuable the culinary treasures in Poland.

This cheese has been made since the Middle Ages and even today is prepared according to a traditional recipe. Produced from cow’s milk exclusively obtained in the Province of Noord-Holland, The Netherlands, its composition and the special method of preparation differentiates this dairy product from other Edam cheeses.

Puzzone di Moena Products

From the mountains of Northern Italy comes a tasty cheese with an intense, penetrating aroma and a pleasantly salty, sharp flavour. Puzzone di Moena is made from raw cow's milk and derives its specific character from the high quality of the raw milk used.

This cylindrical cheese from Altenburg region, Germany, is made from cows’ milk produced exclusively in the area of manufacture and containing at least 15% goats’ milk.

Feta Products

Feta is Greek’s main cheese being made since ancient times. It is produced from sheep’s milk or a mixture of sheep and goat’s milk, where goat’s milk cannot exceed more than 30% of the total product. This cheese is characterised by its white colour, lightly acidic flavour and rich aroma.

Fromage de Herve Products

Belgium has a long tradition of cheese making and owes its good reputation to cheeses such as Fromage de Herve. The production of this cheese, which is closely related to the nature of the grasses of the region, has been around since the 15th century.
