Description
Every August, the coastal town of Pomorie turns into the Bulgarian wine capital for a month. Since ancient times, Pomorie has been known as a wine center and nowadays it’s a big producer of wine (as well as salt).
Bulgaria is one of the oldest wine making countries in the world with traditions in both the grape growing and wine making. The town of Pomerie is well-known for its wine production industry (vine-growing and wine-producing) with some of the best wineries in Bulgaria, famous for both its red and white wines. Pomorie red and white wines are very popular not only throughout Bulgaria, but worldwide.
In the middle of summer, Pomorie celebrates its “Sea of Wine” Festival, in order to show off its wines and wine cellars. The one month program includes wine tasting, wine exhibitions and wine awards as well as a wide variety of cultural and leisure activities for adults and children.
