Bacon Festival

Since 1987 the traditional tourist and commercial manifestation called “Slaninijada” in which participate the best manufacturers of bacon and sausage from Serbia has been held in village Kačarevo near Pančevo.

Description
During the manifestation there is organized a unique festival of bacon, meat and meat products as well as a rich cultural, artistic and entertaining programme.
The accompanying programme is the contest of stew preparation called "Golden pot", melting of bacon called "Golden crackling" and pig slaughtering in a traditional manner.
The event is held in February and it attracts over 80.000 visitors.
