The Potica Festival on Bled Island is intended for all enthusiasts who cherish this sweet or salted Slovenian speciality.

Vinska Vigred is a traditional tourist viticultural and cultural event, which takes place in the old town of  Metlika and extends to three days.

Sirovi Štruklji is one of the most characteristic dishes, known all over Slovenia. Štruklji are made from different kinds of dough and can have a wide range of fillings; they can also be baked or cooked, sweet or savory. Until the 1930's they used to be prepared at holidays and festivities and to celebrate the end of major farm work. The most special kind of štruklji, especially during spring and summer, is prepared with tarragon filling.

Tarragon Potica Recipes

Alongside štruklji, Pehtranova Potica is the most typical Slovenian dessert. It is made with more than 80 different fillings. Potica is a characteristic festive dessert made from different kinds of dough. The most characteristic types of potica include tarragon, honey, walnut, poppy seed, crackling, chive, lovage and cottage cheese. 

Bogracfest Events

In the old city centre of Lendava, in the historical backdrop of townhouses and at the foot of the Lendava vineyards, the biggest goulash stew, called bograč is part of a cooking contest that has been hosted here for more than a decade.

The Cherry Festival is the biggest and most attention-grabbing cultural and tourist event visited by over 30,000 visitors from the local and neighbouring Italian and Austrian regions. This event is full of ethnological, cultural and sports events and entertainment for all generations.
