The event starts on Saturday at 7:30pm with a parade of local farmers carrying the olive harvest on carts for pressing along the streets of the town. Drummers and flag bearers in medieval costumes, together with folk singers and dancers, provide the traditional musical input in celebration of the bountiful harvest. Maltese ftajjar and bread with freshly pressed olive oil will be available for free tasting.
On Sunday morning the Parish will organize the traditional blessing of horses, cattle and pets.
Moreover, the visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the olive oil thanks to presentations featuring olive tree varieties and techniques for their cultivation.
