Okusi Mediteran!

Posljednjeg vikenda u svibnju 2016., stari grad Šibenik, jedan od najljepših gradova na hrvatskoj obali i nadaleko poznat po katedrali Sv Jakova, koja je na UNESCOvom popisu nematerijalne kulturne baštine, ugostit će 3. izdanje međunarodnog festivala Okusi Mediteran! Ova jedinstvena gurmanska i kulturna manifestacija ima za cilj promicanje mediteranske prehrane, kulture, tradicije, proizvoda i načina života koji su se tijekom stoljeća razvili duž obala Sredozemnog mora.

Festival privlači brojne posjetitelje i turiste, te postaje godišnje nezaobilazno mjesto okupljanja međunarodnih F&B stručnjaka, kuhara, proizvođača, nutricionista, novinara, te zaljubljenika u hranu iz svih mediteranskih regija. To je idealno mjesto za razmjenu iskustava, predstavljanje i promoviranje zajedničke destinacije kroz različite identitete mediteranskih zemalja.

Program festivala uključuje mediteransku tržnicu, vinski festival, vođene degustacije vina i hrane, kulinarski show, radionice, večere, zabave, master class pod vodstvom poznatih svjetskih chefova, izložbe, tribine, glazbu, jednodnevne izlete u Nacionalni park "Krka" i još mnogo toga.

Na festivalskoj "mediteranskoj tržnici" mogu se pronaći proizvodi poput ekstra djevičanskog maslinovog ulja, sira, pršuta i kobasica, inćuna, meda, domaće marmelade, tradicionalnih slastica, "arancina", prženih badema, suhih smokava, začina, bio kozmetike ...

Vrhunac festivala 2015. godine bio je jedinstveni kulinarski spektakl "Zvjezdani chefovi pod zvjezdanim nebom", na čarobnoj tvrđavi Sv Mihovila. Bio je to najveći  kulinarski show pod nebom ikada organiziran na takvom mjestu. Pred gotovo tisuću gledatelja, 3 chefa okrunjena Michelinovim zvjezdicama, San Degeimbre iz Belgije, Lionel Levy i Guillaume Sourrieu iz Francuske, predstavili su svoju viziju mediteranske prehrane.

Za nadolazeće 3. izdanje festivala, krajem svibnja 2016. (najljepše godišnje doba u Dalmaciji), pripremamo posebne pakete za posjetitelje koji žele doživjeti mediteransku hranu i način života u jedinstvenom kulturnom i prirodnom krajoliku.

Grad Šibenik s katedralom Sv Jakova i četiri prekrasne tvrđave (http://www.sibenik-croatia.info ), šibenski arhipelag s otocima Kaprije, Krapanj, Murter, Prvić, Zlarin, Žirje, Nacionalni park Krka (http://www.npkrka.hr ) i Skradin, među najimpresivnijim su destinacijama u Dalmaciji, istinski svjedoci mediteranske povijesti i duha, te stoga idealno mjesto za festival Okusi Mediteran!

Nakon uključivanja hrvatske mediteranske prehrane na UNESCO-ov popis nematerijalne kulturne baštine čovječanstva, Festival Okusi Mediteran! postao je dugoročan projekt. Njegov je glavni cilj očuvati tu baštinu promovirajući mediteransku prehranu kao dobru i zdravu, predstavljajući tradicionalnu mediteransku kuhinju i nove kulinarske tehnike, podržavajući proizvođače kvalitetne  hrane i vina, lokalnu poljoprivredu, održivi razvoj i ekološki pristup, te educirajući mlade generacije o dobrom i zdravom načinu života.

I na kraju, Okusi Mediteran! znači dobra hrana, dobro vino i dobra zabava.

On the last weekend in May 2016, the old town of Šibenik, one of the most beautiful venues on the Croatian coast and well known for its UNESCO listed Cathedral, will host the 3rd edition of the International Festival Taste the Mediterranean. This unique gourmet and cultural event aims to promote the Mediterranean Diet, in particular food, culture, traditions, products and lifestyle developed during the course of the centuries along the coasts of the magic Mediterranean sea.

The Festival, attracting many visitors and tourists, is becoming the annual meeting point for international F&B professionals, chefs, producers, nutritionists, journalists, foodies from all the Mediterranean regions. It is a perfect place to exchange experiences and to present and promote a common destination through the different identities of the Mediterranean countries.

The programme of the Festival includes a Mediterranean market, a wine festival, guided food & wine tours, wine tastings, cooking shows, cooking classes, workshops, dinners, parties, master classes led by famous international chefs, exhibitions, panel discussions, music, day trips to the “Krka” National Park and much more.

On the Festival’s “Mediterranean market” one can find products such as extra virgin olive oil, cheese, prosciutto and sausages, anchovies, honey, homemade marmalades, traditional sweets, “arancini”, roasted almonds, dried figs, spices, bio cosmetics…

The highlight of the Festival in 2015 was the extraordinary culinary spectacle “Starry chefs under the starry sky”, on the magic St. Michael fortress. It was the biggest open air cooking show ever organized in such a venue. In front of an audience of a thousand people, 3 Michelin starred chefs, San Degeimbre from Belgium, Lionel Levy and Guillaume Sourrieu from France, presented their vision of the Mediterranean food.

For the 3rd edition of the Festival, at the end of May 2016 (the loveliest period of the year in Dalmatia), special packages are prepared for the visitors who want to experience the Mediterranean food and lifestyle in a unique cultural and natural scenery.

The city of Šibenik with the Cathedral of Saint James and four extraordinary fortresses ( http://www.sibenik-croatia.info ), the Šibenik archipelago with the islands of Kaprije, Krapanj, Murter, Prvić, Zlarin, Žirje, the Krka National Park (http://www.npkrka.hr) with the waterfalls and the Skradin region are not only among the most impressive Dalmatian venues, but they are the true witnesses of the Mediterranean history and spirit and therefore the perfect site for the Festival Taste the Mediterranean. 

Following the inclusion of the Croatian Mediterranean Diet on UNESCO’S Representative list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Humanity, the Festival Taste the Mediterranean became even more a long-term project aiming to safeguard this heritage. The Festival is promoting the Mediterranean Diet as good and healthy by presenting the traditional Mediterranean cuisine and the new culinary techniques, by supporting the producers of food and high quality wines, the local agriculture, the sustainable development and the ecological approach and finally by educating the young generations to adopt a good and healthy lifestyle.

Last but not least Taste the Mediterranean means sharing Good Food, Good Wine and Good Fun.
