The theme of this year’s edition is: It’s time to change course! In the year of Expo in Milan, Slow Food aims to gather all the players involved in protecting the ocean, because saving the ocean is the first step to feeding the planet.
The event program focuses on multisensory experiences with tastings and reflections on food culture and tradition: 21 Taste Workshops in which artisans and chefs organize tastings along with marine biologists and fishers. The Taste Workshops tackle important themes such as biodiversity with the support of some of the most famous Italian marine biologists; eight Cooking School lessons held by Master of Food teachers; and four Dinner Dates with stars of Italian and international cuisine.
A new feature for the 2015 edition will be the presence of some 30 producers from the two LigurianEarth Markets: Cairo Montenotte and Sarzana. In addition, the Genoa Fish Market as well as the event’sFish Market will offer a rich display of fresh and preserved fish, as well as oils, spices, salts, seaweeds and other fish products.
Visitors will once more get the chance to discover tasty specialties in the Street Food area and enjoy a glass of wine from the Enoteca or an artisanal beer in the Beer Piazza. This year the Beer Piazza is even more impressive, with some of the peninsula’s best artisanal beer, as selected in Slow Food’s beer guide.
Reservation is essential for bookable events as places are limited. The booking deadline is May 10.
